History of Truxton

In 2022, Truxton University was founded and licensed by the Higher Education Licensure Commission. By providing distance learning education, students can operate in a virtual platform worldwide without interruptions in career opportunities. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) launched as Truxton University first academic program, tailored to the advancement in a competitive worldwide business environment the United States and Internationally.

Management Team

President - Dr. Richard T. McCutcheon

Dr. Richard T. McCutcheon is honored to serve as president of Truxton University, providing more than 20 years’ experience in education to our global student population. In addition to serving as president Dr. McCutcheon holds faculty credentials in organizational leadership, management, business, and education. He is always asking about educational goals, wherever he goes and he urges all those he comes into contact with, to grow and succeed.

As a Canadian born immigrant to the United States himself, he has a unique knowledge of crossing boarders {using an I-20 visa} to access education, sharing feelings of isolation and apprehension. He has first-hand experience in cross-cultural situations and witnesses with the overall challenges in completing a degree in country different than you live, having completed his own U.S. Masters degree while serving overseas in the Middle East. Dr. McCutcheon has been an enthusiast of fostering character, values, and independent thinking in his students, having spent so much of his career working directly with students on a regular daily basis. This one on one experience offers him greater understanding of the struggles that individuals face while working a job, rearing children, balancing social demands, and studying to complete their education in hopes of providing a better future for their families.

During his tenure, Dr. McCutcheon has taught grade school, middle school, high school, as well as working for a tech school, and several University programs. He was the key factor in expanding his previous university’s offerings in the area by bringing advanced level programs to the local region where he served adding Master of Business, Education, and Counseling to the existing undergraduate programs, even working with students who chose to complete the online Doctor of Business. Working with students at all different levels gives Dr. McCutcheon unique insights into the challenges adult learners face allowing him to impart this knowledge to all our Truxton University faculty. This knowledge directly connects to our vision and informs our teaching. We live in real world and our students need the support of a program with a conscience.

Overseeing all aspects of the University, Dr, McCutcheon is passionate about seeing students meet their personal objectives, not only adding to the overall volume of knowledge itself but impacting the society in which they live and work. He brings a fresh vision of fiscal management, upholding that the educational institution be responsible for what they do with the resources entrusted to them. The idea is to give back to our communities and so Truxton University embraces the opportunity to help our citizenry, to meet the needs of our Servicemembers, front-line workers and their families, especially those who have experienced significant hardships. Dr. McCutcheon holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Pastoral Ministries from Toccoa Falls College, a Masters in Business Administration at University of the Incarnate Word and a Ph.D. in Education; Organizational Leadership at the University of the Incarnate Word.

Vice President - Tasha Harris

Tasha Harris is honored to serve as Vice President for Truxton University. She brings a wealth of expertise as an academic and athletic professional. With over 16 years of experience in sports and higher education, Harris has made significant contributions to both fields.

Before her academic tenure, Harris excelled in various roles within college and professional sports organizations, showcasing her talents in coaching, administration, event management, and project and program management. With 11 years of experience in college athletics, including four years as Director of Basketball Operations and six years as an Assistant Director, Harris brings real-world insights to her teaching and administrative roles.

Throughout her professional career, Harris has worked in several capacities within secondary education, higher education, and college and professional athletics. Her experience in these roles has given her firsthand knowledge of the innovative programming necessary to motivate and inspire students and staff. She has presented at various conferences, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), Black Student-Athlete Summit (BSA), and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), sharing her expertise in student success programming.

Prior to her time in college athletics, Harris worked as an English teacher, instructing below-level reading and honors courses to advance students to their appropriate reading levels at Hyattsville Middle School and Shaw Junior High School. Her time in secondary and higher education and her research interests have developed her passion for helping students prepare for their future. She is deeply committed to helping students see their full potential and translate their learning into their life and work.

Harris is a first-generation college graduate from the University of Kentucky, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Strategic Communications and English. She completed her graduate work at the University of Louisville and Georgetown University, earning a master’s in secondary education and sports management. She recently completed her doctorate in special education from the University of Maryland in the summer of 2024. Her research focuses on the impact of sport participation on the identity development of Black student-athletes. It explores how racial and academic identities influence learning and the sense of belonging within campus communities.

At Truxton University, Harris leverages her extensive experience in college athletics, education, and research to support the institution’s mission. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive and enriching environment, helping students achieve their personal and professional goals, and ensuring that Truxton remains a beacon of flexible and affordable education.

Chairman of the Board - Jen Jacob

Meet Jen Jacob, a dedicated leader Chairman of the Board and CEO of Rajda Holdings Ltd – USA, a company operating in the education industry. With a deep passion for helping individuals pursue education, he has been actively involved in supporting students since 2004. In addition to his role, he also serves as the President for Wales Young Education offer affordable education to local and international students through a private college. Mr. Jacob unwavering commitment to education has resulted in the graduation of numerous college students.

Drawing from his experience as a successful founder and CEO in the corporate world, Mr. Jacob takes pride in supporting those seeking to improve their education, particularly immigrants. But his passion for helping those in need extends beyond the classroom. He has also served as a foster parent for orphans in third-world countries, demonstrating his dedication to making a positive impact on the world.
